Swim Bike Run

The Swim Course is a point to point swim; set in a time trial fashion (athlete position is first come first serve: don’t be late).  Athletes will jump off the dock at Tumbleweed Southwest Grill to start the event.  Athletes then will swim with the current till they reach the finish at the Great Lawn.

The swim course will close 2 hours, 20 minutes after the final athlete enters the water. Utilizing a unique time-trial start, the final athlete is projected to enter the water by 7:45 a.m.

  • Veer right onto Wolf Pen Branch Rd.
  • Turn left (north) onto State Rd 42
  • Turn right (east) onto KY-1694
  • Out and back around turn around
  • Turn right (north) onto State Rd 42
  • Turn right (east) onto KY-393
  • Turn left (east) onto KY-146
  • Turn left (north) onto Ballard School Rd
  • Turn right (north) onto Old Sligo Rd
  • Turn right (east) onto Lesprit Parkway
  • Turn left (north) onto 153
  • Turn Left (south) onto State Rd 42
  • Turn left (east) onto 393
  • Turn left (east) onto KY-146
  • Turn left (north) onto Ballard School Rd
  • Turn right (north) onto Old Sligo Rd

Athletes will be required to reach the 61-mile mark on the bike course (located at the intersection of State Road 42 and KY-393) and start the second loop by 2:15 p.m. Athletes have until 6 p.m. to reach the transition area at the completion of the 112-mile course.

RUN COURSE

  • Turn right (west) onto Main St.
  • Turn right (north) onto the 2nd St. Bridge
  • Complete the U-Turn on the 2nd St. Bridge
  • Turn right (west) onto Main St.
  • Turn left onto 3rd St.
  • Turn right (west) onto Winkler St.
  • Turn left (south) onto 4th St.
  • Continue onto Oakdale Ave.
  • Turn right (south) onto Southern Pky.
  •  Continue on Southern Pky. to U-turn
  • Continue north on Southern Pky.
  • Turn left (west) Oakdale Ave.
  • Merge onto 4th St.
  • Turn right (east) onto Winkler Ave.
  • Turn left (north) onto 3rd
  • Turn left onto Chestnut St
  • Turn right onto 4th St
  • Turn right onto Muhammad Ali Blvd
  • Turn right onto 3rd St. to start second loop
  • After completing 2nd loop turn left on Chestnut St.
  •  Turn right on 4th St.
  • Continue north to Finish at 4th St. Live.

Athletes will be required to reach mile 14 on the run course (located on Muhammad Ali Drive just prior to the second loop) by 9:15 p.m. and complete the marathon course by midnight.
